Emergency Management

Local Government Emergency Management Forums

  • February 22, 2021
  • #emergencymanagement

Two Local Government Emergency Management forums were held in December 2020. These focused on building awareness of Local Government Emergency Management Arrangements, and increasing preparedness for natural disasters across Council boundaries and different levels of government. 87 participants representing over thirty different organisations attended, including Joint Organisations, government agencies, and individual councils from within and beyond the region.  Council representatives included General Managers, Directors, Local Emergency Management Officers & Deputies, Control Room Operators, Community Engagement Managers, Resilience Officers, and Community Development Officers.

Feedback from the forums has been positive, with interest across councils for further training in mitigation and preparedness for emergencies across the region.
