Planning Industry Workshop   Rezoning Reform in the Port Stephens LGA and Broader Opportunities for the Region – A Collaborative ‘Hunter Approach’ to Rezoning

The Hunter JO and Port Stephens Council teamed up to deliver an online regional workshop on 10 September 2021, involving Councils, State Government Agencies and private sector planning and development industry representatives. The workshop:

  • Provided insights on the significant reform processes around local rezoning and placemaking processes implemented by Port Stephens Council, and their impact to date  
  • Identified lessons arising from the reform process and potential opportunities for broader application in the Hunter region 
  • Facilitated feedback and queries from council, agency and planning industry representatives
