ARROW Brand Launch 2021

  • November 26, 2021

Last week our partner organisation, ARROW, held their official brand launch event!

This event was an opportunity to celebrate the evolution of what was previously known as ‘Hunter Councils’ into our new brand ‘Arrow’, offering a suite of specialised service to local government, through its five business units. The launch also included a panel discussion on the topic ‘The Value of Local Government?’, with guest speakers from outside of the industry offering their take.

Ally Dench – Executive Director – Office of Local Government, Mark Fitzgibbon – Managing Director – NIB Group and Dr Peter Cock – CEO – Newcastle Airport took part in the panel, moderated by our CEO Joe James, sharing their views on the value, function and importance of Local Government from the perspective of organisations that are adjacent to the Local Government industry.

The launch was held at Noah’s at the Beach in Newcastle, with attendees from all ten of the Hunter region’s councils, including Mayors, General Managers, Council officers as well as local service providers.

After 20 years in the game, the launch of this new brand marks a significant step for Arrow as an organisation, and its relationship to the Hunter Joint Organisation. Arrow’s purpose is two-fold, to deliver value to Local Government through specialised services, and supporting the delivery of the Hunter JO’s functions through all profits generated by Arrow.

Moving forward Arrow will play an increasing role in resourcing the regional programs we are delivering for Councils through the Hunter JO across our statutory functions of:

  • Regional strategic planning and priority setting
  • Intergovernmental collaboration
  • Shared regional leadership and advocacy
